We will count the points after Midnight on September 7th, 2008, after we ensure all posts by the winner are not spam. It is up to our discretion what counts as spam. Spam, being any post not related to finding a ride or general discussions on gas prices and the environment.
Valid carpool posts are the best. Most often, when point calculation looks different than expected, it is due to a misunderstanding of which posts/activities participate in the MPS. Posts that are awaiting moderation, private messages, and posts in forums marked as disabling points are not included in point calculation. Furthermore, any activities that act on an individual's own posts are not credited with points. For example, a post will not receive points for a reply if the author replies to himself, or rates his own post, or even marks his post as a favorite.

1. Disclaimer. Admin, Sponsor, all participating sponsors and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, professional advisors, employees and agencies are not elgible for this contest and will not be responsible for:
(a) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled or distorted or damaged transmissions or entries; (b) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or other computer- or communications-related malfunctions or failures; (c) any Contest disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor; or (d) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest.
2. Contest Period. The Contest shall end on 12:00 PM CST SEPT 7, 2008. All existing forum points shall be counted, including the ones that were posted before the contest started.
3. Prizes. Qualified First Place will receive a $100 Chevron Gas card, then second place a $50 Chevron Gas card and third place a $25 Chevron Gas card. In the event of any ties in the top three places the winner will be selected at random from the pool of winners in their respective place category. The odds of winning first prize are roughly 1 in 7000. The Prize in association with the winners' names and optional photos will be displayed on the RideSearch.com website. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER.
All prizes will be awarded. Prizes returned as undeliverable or otherwise not claimed within fifteen (15) days after delivery of notification will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Prizes are not transferable.
No substitutions or exchanges (including for cash) of any prizes will be permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize. All prizes are awarded "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose)
